Reached via a rough tarmac private lane, the cottage enjoys the benefit of two gardens, the front garden is fully enclosed, while the land to the rear is open, grassed and home to natural flora. The bund is ideal for watching the dramatic Solway Firth sunsets. The seashore is reached via a rocky scramble over the sea defenses, but there is also flat access straight onto the shore a 10-minute walk away. Here you can birdwatch, dog walk or fish on a deserted and secluded stretch of the Solway, enjoying the views to Scotland. You can also sit and watch for seabirds and porpoises from the master bedroom. Set just outside Skinburness a few minutes north of the popular seaside resort of Silloth, where you can stroll along the coastal path. The Solway Firth coastline has plenty to entertain, from an award-winning aquarium, a toy soldier museum, amusement arcades, go-karting, world-class golf and even a 4-day music festival, Solfest! There is a small market on Thursdays in Silloth, and a car boot on Sundays, just out of town. Slightly further afield there is the great border city of Carlisle and the northern Lake District. Beach 30 yards. Shop, pub, and restaurant 1 mile.
