Poppy Cottage is in a stunning location that has something for everyone and where holiday memories will be made. Blackawton is a delightful Devon village with a community shop and historic church, and hosts an annual Worm Charming Festival in May which is fun for the whole family! Everyone is welcome to attend and join in the variety of activities. The property is well situated for Dartmouths’ annual events too, such as the music festival in May, the Royal Regatta in August, and comedy and food festivals. Blackawton is also very locally renowned for a terrific bonfire, sculpted to an object, (previous years have seen rockets and the Loch Ness monster), and firework night in November. The property is surrounded by the South Hams beautiful countryside, wonderful beaches and 630 miles of breathtaking South West Coastal Paths. Just a 15-minute drive to the coast where there are popular beaches such as Blackpool Sands, Slapton Sands and Torcross, and many little coves. If it’s the waves you’re searching for, Bantham and Challaborough are renowned for surfing and windsurfing, and nearby Bigbury has a surf school.
